What is kindness?

In this week's Team Kista Talk, Mr Östling Huhta suggests that sometimes, kindness is not only about doing nice things for others, but it can also be to give others space, time, and energy to do the things they want to do and to be who they want to be.

Celebrating Kindness at IES Kista with the Staff and Student Hero Awards

"Kindness costs nothing, but means everything"

Throughout February everyone at IES Kista will be encouraged to celebrate kindness with the IES Kista Superhero Awards.

Students will be encouraged to nominate someone who has been kind to them, linking it to one of the following core values. The core values are:

  • Honesty
  • Community
  • Determination
  • Ambition

Students must write the name and class of the person they want to nominate, why they want to nominate them, what core value they show and their name and class. Ballot papers will be in the podiums of each classroom and at reception. When students have filled it the form, they can drop it in the box at reception!

There will also be a staff award for an everyday hero, where students can nominate teachers or other members of staff who have been kind to them.

House Points will be awarded for nominations.

And remember in a world where you can be anything... be kind.
