As we move into the last week before the Easter break I want to take the opportunity to thank both students and staff for the attitude they have shown in school the last couple of weeks. We all know we are living through troubled times and sometimes this makes it hard to see the good things that happen. For myself, one way of staying positive has been to see and talk to the students who are very grateful for the school being open and offering them a sense of normality of a very different situation and also seeing how the staff have adapted to this situation and provided even more care and support towards both students and each other. They are acting as excellent role models to our young people every day. We will be open as normal this week as well and I know our staff and students will continue to show care and support all the way until Easter.
All of you may have seen the news regarding the cancellation of the national tests and some of you may be worried of the effects of this decision. Actually, even if the national tests are valuable in assessing and confirming students knowledge levels, it does not create huge problems for the assessment of students and their grades to not have them. Teachers have and will have enough information from the tasks that are produced as part of the teaching and learning in the classroom.
Finally, I would like to share this week's Team Kista Talk with you, it is about Hope, something we all need at this time.
